Prepared for The Other Art Fair New Futures program application.
Why are you applying to New Futures and what do you hope to gain from the experience?
Written Summary
Hi I am Jennifer, a multi-media artist and interdisciplinary researcher based in New York City. My work examines human agency and environmental relationships. Specifically I look to reflect, express, and preserve time.
I am a self-taught artist, My background in engineering and computer science allows me to experiment and visualize my artwork through the use of scientific and mathematical principles in the process.

My body of work is inclusive and expansive in nature - including sculptures, photography, sound, poetry, video and installation. For example, my recent work, Forest Spectrogram, features a sound clip recorded last spring in the Catskills and I created a diagram using both analog painting and digital method through computer programming, that translate sound into sequential visualization that depicts the sound's character such as rhythm, frequency, and timber and other sensory characteristics of the empirical experience.
I am applying for new future at the other art fair because: from designing the booth and curation of my work, I can showcase, articulate, and grow my authentic, original work in the other art fair community that appreciate all and forward thinking perspectives. I value that the other art fair is positioned for the new generation of art buyers which means more audience will my appreciate my new body of work that intersect art and science. Through the new future at the other art fair program, I look to connect with other exhibitors and curators, take advantage of the mentorship, buddy programs to further optimize the commercialization of my art work both digitally and via the virtual art fair. And most importantly, inspire others, get inspired and have fun!

My proposed 8 x 8 Booth
Visitor Experience
The booth curation is intended to be inviting and playful. The three walls of the booth will showcase the three distinct perspectives to express time - preservation of the perishable (left wall), timeless primitive forms (front wall), and sequential visualization of sound (right wall). The left wall will feature my collection “Preserve Equilibrium in Food” with shelving to host various resin casted pastry sculptures from local NY eatery. If space permitted, a medium sized bread chair sculpture will be placed at the entrance to the booth. The front wall features prints and 3D printed sculpture from the series “Poetry Galaxy” which are inspired by enduring architectural building blocks in homosapien environments accompanied by AI created poems. The right wall features the latest painting “Forest Spectrogram” which adopts analog and digital programming approaches to translate sound into visuals. Audience will listen to the original sound clip that inspires the artwork. The booth will also serve as an interactive platform between participants and I, the artist as I will invite the audience to record a sound clip that will become input into a painting reflecting time within the 3 days festivities at The Other Art Fair.

In addition to new artwork created for the show, following artwork would be included:
