Intent
JQ Retreat is an annual birthday trip with a group of close friends. This year we spent 3 days in East Hamptons, NY in October where we meditate, cooked, apple-picked and celebrated our close friendship. I wanted to create individual pieces for my friends that are "one of a kind" and represent how we share similar interests and differences. These 7 pieces are from the same color palette and my inspiration come from sunrise in ombre form. I didn't want to follow the traditional tie dye method and want to practice dye with brush so I could mix the transition well. This later inspired my design of "Green Breaker" which introduce instability and visualize spreading of water and chaos.
